Pulpmodernism

November 11, 2008

1226395968980On this Friday, I need to say a few words on Pulp Fiction. Being an epic cult movie, Pulp Fiction doesn’t need to be introduced. So, what I want is to find illustrative elements in the movie for Lacanian psychoanalysis. I would cover the cultic position of the movie (not putting too much emphasis on Umberto Eco’s text- because a lot has been said about that as well, but I try to make another text as a basis of why Pulp Fiction has become cult.)

Then, a comparison would be made between the Freudian model of psychosexual development and Pulp Fiction – á la Zizek. After that, we should see that female gaze as such doesn’t exist aand…that’s all!
